My potato vines were thriving and now all of a sudden, within a few weeks, they are dead. What would cause that? |
The only answer to the problem is either too much or too little water. Potato vines are vigorous plants and they respond to full sunshine and adequate water with rampant growth. If your plants began the season in a healthy way, and then died, I'd look at the root system for clues. Dig around in the bed and examine the roots; make sure they are not dried out (lack of water) or are not soggy wet (poor soil drainage). Once you've determine the cause of death you can take measure to improve the conditions that led to the demise of your plants. Best wishes with your garden! |
