NEW GRASS - Knowledgebase Question

I LIVE IN TEXAS WHERE IT IS HOT, I BOUGHT ST AUGSTINE AND PLANTD WHERE THE LAWN HAD NO GRASS. IT DID VERY WELL FOR AWHILE NOE PART OF IT IS DYING. I WATER LIGHTLY EVER OTHER DAY. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? I HAVE THE SME GRAS IN THE REST OF THE LAWN AND IT IS DOING WELL. WHAT DID I DO WRONG?

Nancy,

Frequent watering promotes disease. Once a new planting of grass have a few weeks to get established it is better to back of gradually to where you water once a week with a good soaking. The most likely disease at this time of the year is Take All Patch. Your local County Extension Office can assist you with having a sample diagnosed so you can know what the proper remedy might be.
