About a month ago we purchased a 4-ft tall mimosa tree in a 15 |
Yellowing leaves at the end of summer is a common occurance with mimosa trees. It indicates some heat stress, which is normal after the hot summer weather, and indicates the natural end of season shedding of foliage. I don't think it is anything to worry about. If you're waiting for cooler weather to plant your tree in the ground, you might want to wait until October. That way you'll be sure that the rainy season has returned and temperatures will be consistently cool, which will lessen transplant shock and hasten root establishment. Mimosa leaves sometimes close up - it's just part of the tree's interest. Enjoy your mimosa! |
