When repotting a Gardenia, can the root system be subdivided so that instead of having one very large gardenia which is thriving beautifully, one might end up with 2-4 smaller plants? Or does the Gardenia grow from a single root trunk? |
Gardenias grow from a single trunk so dividing the roots probably won't help you produce new plants. However, making tip cuttings in the spring is a good way to propagate gardenias. You might try that next spring. Best wishes with your gardenia. |
