Hello,

I have a question about white flowering clematis. I was wondering if this plant could be planted on top of the wall and hang down. We are designing a waterfall with landscaping bricks and I am trying to find a plant to hang down, covering (fully or partially) the bricks. Any ideas? The light will be full for now. In a few years, it may go to partial shade due to dwarf fruit trees. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Clematis tends to grow up and out rather than cascade, although it will tumble over itself if not given an upright support. If you're looking for a plant to cascade down over the bricks of your wall, you might consider Star Jasmine. This plant will grow in either sun or shade, flowers nearly all summer long, and loves to scramble over and cascade down walls. Best wishes with your landscape!
