I need information on growing and caring for Tuberous Begonias from start to finish. I have several "bulbs" and have had difficulty in growing them last year, and caring for them through dormancy.

Tuberous Begonias are spectacular plants. Some grow upright, but most are grown in hanging containers where their stems can droop down and show off their huge and brightly colored flowers.

Tuberous Begonias prefer filtered sunlight and lots of water. In the fall, when the leaves begin to yellow and wilt, reduce watering. When stems have fallen off the plant, lift the tuber, shake off the dirt, and allow the tuber to dry in the sunshine for about three days. Store tubers in a cool, dry place, such as a garage. At the end of the rest period, when little pink buds form on the tuber, simply repot and begin watering again. New shoots will emerge within a few weeks.
