Is juniperus conferta 'blue pacific' a good hardy plant for salt conditions in the midwest?

Juniperus conferta is native to coastal areas on the north Japanese island of Sakhalin. It likes light, well drained soils and is salt tolerant. It makes a terrific ground cover in sunny sites.
