|Several years ago, received a beautiful Zsa Zsa from my daughter. It bloomed beautifully. It will keep over the winter (in the house) and full of beautiful mounded leaves--but no flowers??? We have never separated it so it is contained in a fairly large container. Would love to have it bloom again. Thank you.
|Alstroemeria x 'Staprizsa' Zsa Zsa can be difficult to maintain and rebloom as a house plant. It needs a winter chilling period, so you could try that. The temperature should be between about 35 and 45 degrees. Store them in their container with the soil just barely damp, not quite bone dry. Trim back the foliage when it fades. In spring, I would suggest repotting (be gentle, they can be brittle), replant only the best plump and vigorous roots and then set it outside. The first flush of growth will be foliage only, followed by blooms later in the summer if the roots are strong enough to bloom. I hope this helps.
