Every year something happens. Freezin cold weather 30-35 below zero frosts so no peaches and not good apples. Other years to wet so tomatos look like mutants. If that is not bad enough this year caterpillers on top of everything else. Blue berries, finally this year some of my blue berries were very good and some were tiny and not very tasty. Gardening is not the greatest activity is it?

I am glad I garden as a hobby and do not have to rely on my crops for survival. Maybe the failures make the successes seem more sweet? Some say gardeners are the most optimistic people in the world. At least it is always "something interesting" out there in the garden. And we can always use the health of the tomatoes this year as a conversation starter. I'm not sure what your question was, but I hope this helps.
