We need an evergreen tree, that grows up to 25'-40', that provides: dense canopy, natural in appearance, drought tolerant, deer resistance, fast grower, clay soils, preferably grows in a taller and narrower shape than very wide round canopy shape. We are using 1-2 trees as a privacy separation between a house that is above our house by about 10'.
We are considering 1. Evergreen Ash, 2. Italian Buckthorn, 3.Carolina cherry laurel.
Do you have any recommendations?

Your choices are good ones, but have you considered Leyland cypress? This is a popular tree for screening and privacy plantings. You might also consider "Witchita Blue" or "Skyrocket" junipers. These are reasonably fast growing, upright plants. Or, American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis) is a tall, columnar evergreen that's a natural for planting in rows for quick screening. Hope one of these suggestions works for you in your landscape!
