Hello, I planted a royal purple smoke tree and it is dying on me. I was told to water it everyday untill it gets established. So I have been doing so. When we planted it we put tree vitamin pellets in the dirt. It is in the sun. My hardiness zone is 8. Am I over watering it? Please help my poor little tree.

Thank you
Mrs.Tenay

Sabina,

It sounds like you may be overwatering it as an every day schedule is likely to be keeping the roots saturated and preventing them from getting oxygen. The key is to keep the soil moist but not soggy wet. You may need to dig down a few inches to see if it is soggy or if it needs water. Allowing it to dry out just a bit between waterings is good and may help turn the problem around if it is not too late to save your new tree.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
