|I just got back home from being out of town for 5 days during Hurricane Rita. My violas have mostly brown leaves. There are a few leaves with a little green still on them. Is there any way I can save this dried out plant? This is the last viola I have and I would really like to grow it through the winter.
Thank you a million,
Sorry to hear about you being in the path of the storm. Damage from wind and too much water is very hard on plants. They key is to get the soil dried out to prevent root rots which are deadly. With time and just moist not soggy soil they should recover. When new growth resumes feed them with light doses of a soluble product such as Miracle Grow or Peter's Plant Food at the label rate.
Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
