| I bought this tree in Feb. (this Year) and it has bloomed continually. It is currently in a large pot and I'm wondering if I should transplant into the ground. I absolutely love this little tree and don't want anything to happen to it. I have no idea how it does thru the winter. We're a desert climate (can drop into the 30's from time to time. Any care info you can give would be apprecitated. |
| Lonicera sempervirens (Trumpet Honeysuckle) is hardy in growing zones 3-9 so it should weather your winters without problem. Since your plant is still in a container, the roots will be vulnerable to cold temperatures. I'd sink the pot into the ground for the winter, to help insulate the roots from the cold. If that's not practical, place the pot in a larger container and stuff insulation between the two containers, or wrap your container with insulating material to keep the roots from freezing solid during the winter months.
