Is it necessary to cover shrub roses and nearly wild roses for the winter? |
As long as you are growing varieties considered hardy in your zone, it should be sufficient to mulch heavily over the root zone in late fall. The floribunda named "Nearly Wild" for example is rated hardy to zone 4, so it should be fine. If they are in a very windy location, it might also be helpful to provide a wind break of some kind. I hope this helps. |
