There are many, many different types of sage and salvia, both ornamental and culinary. I believe you are refering to the sage with the botanical name Salvia coccinea, which is native from South Carolina to Florida, over to Texas. You can purchaseseeds for the cultivar 'Lady in Red' from Burpee. (See page 47 of the 1998 catalog.) It is described as having "loose, airy, 24" spikes of scarlet blooms". Sounds wonderful! |
