Dear Monrovia, I have a planting bed between a walkway and the house, the bed is 2 feet wide and 10 feet in length with a northern exposure. In addition there are windows 3 feet above that planting area. I am looking for an evergreen compact azalea or camellia for that location, what varieties would you recommend? Thank you in advance for your help.

Here are descriptions of two of my favorites:

Camellia sasanqua 'Classique' is a prostrate sasanqua camellia which grows slowly to around 2' tall and 3' wide. It flowers abundantly from late summer to winter. The flowers are two-tone pink with a prominent yellow center. The new growth has a bronze tinge.

Or, you might try 'Yuletide' with small ember red flowers and prominent yellow stamens.

Hope one of these camellias is just right for your garden!
