|Yellowing can be caused by a variety of different causes. Most houseplants including the prayer plant will do well in bright indirect light, high humidity, and with soil that is evenly moist but not sopping wet or saturated. (It should be like a wrung out sponge.) The room temperature should be at a minimum of about 65 degrees and there should be good air circulation but keep them out of both hot or cold drafts. Water quality can sometimes have an adverse effect on plants; high levels of chlorine or salts from a water softener, for instance, can cause damage to the roots or foliage. The prayer plant in particular likes a humid location, and the edges of the leaves may shrivel if it is too dry. New plants also tend to go through an adjustment period while they adapt to their new home. I hope this helps you trouble shoot. If the problem seems to be getting worse, I would suggest you consult with your local county extension and/or professional nursery staff for a more detailed try at troubleshooting.
