The top of my weeping threadleaf arborvitae is turning brown on top and seems to be dying off. It grew perfectly all summer and since the cold has set in it seems to be losing its leaves like an oak tree. Is this normal and will it come back next spring? |
Arborvitae is an evergreen plant. If the top of your plant is turning brown, it may have been nipped by frost (new growth sometimes does not harden off in time to protect it from sudden changes in temperatures). There's not much you can do for your plant right now, but next spring you can prune away any dead plant material to encourage healthy new growth. Best wishes with your landscape! |
