What do you think of magnolia little gem as a small tree, one in morning sun and one in alot of light (reflected, also) but no direct sun? I want to keep it under 20 ft. Do you think a deciduous magnolia or this magnolia is better? |
Magnolias grow and flower best when planted in a full sun exposure. While they will grow in bright light, they won't flower as well as similar trees in full sunshine. Little Gem is a good choice for a small tree; Timeless Beauty (Magnolia x 'Monland') is another you might consider. This small evergreen tree displays large fragrant white flowers over a long season. Very upright and extremely dense branches form a broad crown. A lovely landscape accent. Full sun. Slow-growing to 15 to 20 feet high, 20 to 25 feet wide. Best wishes with your landscape! |
