Both male and female kiwi vines will flower this spring. When yours does, pick a flower and dissect it. Look for the female parts - a swollen ovary at the base of the flower, a long thin stalk, with a flattened recepticle at the top of the stalk. If you have a male flower, you will see long, thin anthers with pollen pads on the top, but no ovary at the base of the flower. Generally the female flowers are larger than the male flowers. One male plant can help pollinate up to eight female plants.
