I was decorating (for 8th year) Dwarf Alberta Spruce (in 25 ballon plastic buckets) for outside of church this past Saturday for Christmas. This is 2nd year purchased Monrovia trees. I've never had an allergic reaction before.

About 5 minutes into decorating my palms started to itch & severe allergic reaction (in emergency room with eyes swelling shut & skin on fire). I'm OK hour (after shot of adrenelin and I.V. of Benedryl), but need to find out for allergist what is sprayed on the trees.

The Monrovia tag says

The trees are naturally deer resistant, they would not have been sprayed with a repellant to make them deer resistant. Deer just do not prefer them. As far as the mycorrhizae, these occur naturally in soils and are added to the potting mix to help introduce them to the planting hole and thus help the tree become rooted more quickly. I'm so sorry you had an allergic reaction while decorating!
