Michelia Champaca - Knowledgebase Question

I planted a Michelia Champac a year ago and because the position it is in is not going to allow enough room for it to grow I was wondering at what time could I replant it? Is it likely to survive the move? It hasn't yet flowered.

You can successfully transplant a tree anytime the ground is not frozen. (Digging frozen soil is no fun and it's hard to water it in well to help settle the soil!) Spring and fall are the best times to transplant; that's when temperatures are cool and rainfall abundant, both of which helps the roots become re-established. After transplanting, water well to help settle the soil. Your tree should survive the move without problem.

Best wishes with your garden.
