|How do I get my daylilies to give lots of blooms? It is well established and blooms but not really great? Do I lime, fertilize? What number and how much?
Thanks you for your help.
|3-4 year old clumps of dayliles usually produce lots of blooms, if they're getting all day sunshine and adequate water. They thrive on regular doses of 20-20-20 fertilizer; I feed mine every month from spring through early fall. If your daylilies have been in the garden longer than 4 years, it's time to divide the clumps. Overcrowded plants do not bloom as well as plants with lots of elbow room.
Best wishes with your daylilies!
