I am wondering about the claims of the giant tree tomato plant I recently recieved. It claims to grow 8 feet tall and full of large red tomatoes continually throughout the summer. Please let me know if this plant really lives up to the claims made in an advertisment in our Sunday paper.

The plant is Cyphomandra, a tropical plant that grows about 10 feet tall. It will bear tomato-looking fruit, which is edible, but they won't taste anything like real tomatoes. The fruit can be eaten fresh, but are usually stewed and made into jelly. This plant is more of a curiosity than anything else, and you'll probably be disappointed in the quality of the crop. But, it might be fun to have, just because it's different.
