I was given a few orchid TREE seeds. Do I need to prepare them by soaking, etc. before I plant them? What planting medium should I use? What depth? How moist should I keep them? How long before they sprout? When should I harden them off in my screened patio? I know nothing about these tree seeds but I want to grow them. My friend doesn't know anything either as she bought the property with the tree on it. Thank you.

Heat water to hand hot and place the seeds in it to soak. Change the water once or twice as you soak them for about 48 hours. Then plant them in a fresh potting or seed starting mix about 4 times their width deep. Keep the soil moist and warm (room temperature is fine) until they sprout. Seeds should sprout in 3 to 6 weeks. Provide as much light as you can to the growing seedlings. When the danger of frost is past they can be moved to an outdoor location.
