I want to prepare a rose bed. What do I need to do after I have tilled the spot? Add anything special? |
Your roses will reward you with lots of healthy green growth and bountiful blossoms if you first choose a site that gets all day sunshine, then till the soil to a depth of one foot. Spread a four inch layer of organic matter such as peat moss, compost, leaf mold or aged manure over the soil and work it in. You can also add about 5 pounds of bonemeal per 100 square feet of garden area before planting your new roses. |
