dead leaves - Knowledgebase Question

the yucca plant that grows in humidity here in southern virginia.. blooms white flowers. what do you do with the dead leaves at the bottom of the plant, do you cut them off, or will they fall off or how about the stalk after it has bloomed, doyou twist it out and take it away.. new to the area, thanks for any help

The flower stalk can be removed after the blooms have faded (or sooner, if you do not like the flower display). Cut it off short at the bottom. The older leaves can also be removed when they have died off, if they seem untidy. Simply trim them off neatly. Or, they can be left in place to serve as a bit of natural mulch. Enjoy your yucca plant!
