I planted purple fountain grass last spring. This is the first ornamental grass I've planted in my yard and I'm not sure how to handle after the winter. Should it be cut back to the ground removing the old foliage to allow new growth? Please advise. Thank you.

Laura,

Cut it back to about 6 inches high in early to mid February and when the weather warms up it will send up new growth.
