Nuccio's Bella R ossa CAMELLIA - Knowledgebase Question

I saw the bella rossa over the weekend and loved the flower. BUT ... the leaves were very pale green and not shiny but matte finish like.

Could you please tell me if this plant has just been neglected or whether the leaves are a nice green and glossy???

I have been to many nurseries and only saw one of these. WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ASAP IF POSSIBLE.

Thanks,
Cathy

What you describe sounds like dessication or drying of the foliage due to exposure to winds or from lack of water. The leaves of a Bella Rossa camellia should be glossy and deep green. Check for new growth; new leaves should be emerging in a dark green with a glossy finish.
