Hi, I want to plant some trees or shrubs to be the hedge for my west-facing room to block the sunlight in the summer afternoon. Do you have suggestions? Thanks

Becky,

There are many great choices. I like the 'Bright N Tight' Carolina Cherry Laurel as well as the 'Little Gem' Magnolia. If you want light to shine through in winter you might consider a semi dwarf crape myrtle since they are deciduous. They would not be a hedge plant but would be attractive and bloom in the summer.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
