The Compact Cherry Laurel is an evergreen shrub or tree with dark green, glossy leaves, having a more compact growth habit and smaller leaves than the species. The leaves give off a fragrance similar to maraschino cherries when crushed, but be careful they are poisonous!! In the spring fragrant white flowers blossom followed by cherry-like black fruit, eaten by wildlife but can be poisoness to humans. The Compact Cherry Laurel can grow to be 10 feet high and 4 to 6' wide. This tree or shrub has drought, wind and heat tolerance.

Bright n Tight is an outstanding tightly branched shrub valued as a hedge or screen. Exceptionally shiny, deep green foliage has tidy, clean appearance. Adapts well to occasional shearing to control size and form. Evergreen. Full to partial sun. Moderate grower to 8 to 10 feet tall, 6 to 8 feet wide, larger if untrimmed.
