I have three Crepe Myrtle trees and four bushes (some sort of Evergreen or Juniper) I would like to move. Is it okay to move them in early spring (right now)? Thank you. |
Unfortunately, none of these are usually easy to move successfully, especially if they have been in place for a long time. But you can try. It is better to do it very early in the spring -- just as soon as the soil can be worked -- than to wait. Dig them with as much of the root system intact as you possibly can and replant immediately at the same depth as they grew before. Water to settle the soil and mulch. Then water as needed to keep the soil slightly moist this summer while they reroot. Please understand that moving these is risky and you may lose them. |
