Our avocado tree has small red spots on the upper part of the leaf.
The spots do not seem to be raised. What can we do or is this a problem? Not all the leaves are involved.

It's almost impossible to diagnose an insect or disease problem without actually seeing it. Red spots can indicate mite damage, or they could be the result of some cultural or environmental problem. Rather than take a chance, collect a few of the affected leaves, place them in a plastic bag, and take them to your local Cooperative Extension office or Master Gardener Clinic. Or, take them to a large nursery where avocado and citrus trees are sold. Knowledgeable staff should be able to positively identify the problem for you and make suggestions for control. Best wishes with your avocado tree!
