| First, check with you local zoning authority to make sure it's okay to proceed. Many places don't allow or recommend gardening over a mound system because the plant roots grow and interfere. As for the weeds, without knowing specificially what they are, we can't recommend a course of action for removal. If you can identify them, send another question, or if not, take a sample into a local nursery department or to your County Cooperative Extension office for identification.
