|We had several wind storms and a cold snap (down to 10 degrees F)this past winter. Afterwards, I noticed that some of my escallonia
had browned leaves and a few dead branches. I pruned them. Otherwise, the escallonia look healthy. Could the browned leaves/dead branches be a result of the bad weather, or should I be worried about a disease?
Thank you for your information.
|Escallonia is generally pest free so considering the foul weather of late, I'd chalk up the dieback to environmental conditions rather than disease. Pruning off the affected branches will encourage your shrubs to produce healthy new branches. Let's hope they're not hit with more unseasonably cold weather!|
