Potted fuschia - Knowledgebase Question

Having just left California I am surprised to find that potted hanging fuschias are not perennials in Zone 7; i.e., I cannot put it inside for the winter to keep it alive for next summer. How do I best care for it in this zone?
Thank you.

Nancy,

That plant will freeze in your winters. If you can't find a fairly bright indoor location or a greenhouse for it to overwinter it will basically be an annual for you. Fuschias love spring in your area but can really suffer in the heat of summer. Move it to a morning sun and afternoon shade location for the hot summer season. Keep the soil moist and fertilize with a soluble plant food every 2-4 weeks.
