The front of my home faces the west. I would like to plant a hydrangea in my front garden with a growth of about 4-5 feet high. Which type of hydrangea can withstand the heat of the afternoon sun?
Thank you for your help!

Tammie,

Hydrangeas and western sun don't really go together. Even if one could survive the sun it would not look very good an would be prone to sunburn. I'd suggest you consider another plant choice or perhaps come up with a way to partially shade the plant such as with a small tree above and to the west of it.
