Growing a lawn in sand can be difficult as you have to water and fertilize much more often. You might consider trying a different turf species such as seashore paspalum 'Sea Isle', or perhaps Centipede grass. Be prepared to water often and fertilize according to instructions from your local County Extension Office. Usually this means in spring when you mow the turf for the second time and again in mid summer and early fall. Centipede may do with less fertilizing.
