| Hi.... when is it safe to start seeds out on my SCREENED in porch? Is it too cold at night right now?
|The answer really depends upon the seeds you want to start. Cool season annuals such as snapdragons can be started when the lowest temperatures are 40F; warm season annuals such as tomatoes should not be started outdoors until the temperature is nearly 60F. So, check the seed packages. If the plants grow and flower in spring, plant them now (they can stand the cold); if the plants don't flower until summer, wait until the lowest temperature is about 55F. Or, start your seeds indoors and set the seedlings out when nighttime temperatures are at least 50F.|
