| Our backyard has about a 25' X 55' wide level area and another 1500 sq ft slope. We planted a weeping Katsura about 5 feet from a retaing wall and 5 feet from a shed/fence. I am concerned we did not research this tree enough and think we need to remove it from out back yard due to the height and width. The other reason is we have planted a Japanese Maple tree with little green leaves about 10 feet away up on a retaining wall. Are these trees too close and should we remove the Katsura? |
| A weeping Katsura tree will grow slowly to 15 to 25 feet tall, 10 to 15 feet wide. You can prune to keep it more narrow and it might fit the site but if you have another suitable site, you would do well to transplant it now while it's still young. It's a beautiful tree and deserves to grow naturally with plenty of elbow room. Best wishes with your landscape! |
