We bought the house and in front yard we have a small pear tree. Last year we did not see more pears on my tree. Do we need any tretment on it?

Unfortunately, based on your description I am not certain if there is a problem with your pear tree. Since it is in the front yard, it is possible it is an ornamental pear and would not be expected to bear fruit.

If it is actually a bearing variety of pear, there are several possible reasons why you might not have fruit such as lack of an appropriate pollenizer, lack of maturity if it is a young tree, or a cultural problem such as poor soil fertility.

Here is some general information on growing pears that you may find helpful. (See pome fruits, apples and pears.) You may need to cut and paste the complete url into your browser to make it work correctly.

Your local county extension may also be able to help you trouble shoot. Good luck with your tree!
