|I have a small area that receives full sun in the morning and full shade in the afternoon. I need good suggestions for flowering plants in this area. It is fairly protected from wind and the soil is well drained.
|This is a wonderful type of light to garden in. You can grow a wide variety of plants including those that like full sun and those that like part shade. You might try bulbs and perennials such as daffodils and crocus, dwarf iris, Heuchera, Baptisia, Salvia, Lilium, Hemerocallis, Echinacea purpurea, tall border Phlox, Papavar, Sedum, Boltonia, Solidago, Helenium, Thyme, Perovskia, Dahlias and Asters --just for a start. Some annuals to add might include petunias, salvia, cosmos, cleome, nicotiana, sunflower and batchelor's buttons. Your local professional nursery staff should be able to show you many more plants that would thrive there. Enjoy!|
