I just noticed today that my three butterfly bushes, which have been doing great since I first planted them a couple of years ago, seem to have some kind of disease. They just started to leaf out for spring a few weeks ago, and now I've noticed that some of the leaves look wrinkled/distorted, on all three bushes. Also, some of the new shoots have a little brown leaf on the tips. Can you tell me what this could be and how to treat it? I am wondering what kind of diseases butterfly bushes are susceptible to, because I thought they were very disease-resistant.

Thanks very much!

Based on your description and also how the weather has been, it is possible they had some cold damage while the buds were swelling and beginning to unfold. They should recover as the season progresses and they put out new growth, there is nothing you can do for it. You might want to check with your county extension just to make sure.
