My carpet roses have outgrown the space in which I planted them. Can I separate them and plant new sections in another area?

Roses are not usually divided. Instead you might be able to transplant every other one. Water it well the day before, cut it back by about half, then dig it with as much of the rootball intact as you possibly can and replant immediately at the same depth as it grew before. Water thoroughly and deeply to settle the soil, mulch, then water as needed to keep it evenly moist but not sopping wet, just as for any new plant. The best time to do this is in very early spring or very early fall. I hope this helps.
