| I have four hollys in a row and the second one doesnt have the greener, heartier leaves as the other three. It also has black/grey spots in center of the leaves. It looks like it may be spreading to the the healthier ones. They are six years old and this this the first year they looked unhealthy. |
| There are several different fungal problems that can cause leaf spotting on hollies and the symptoms would be apparent in the spring on older leaves just as you described. I would suggest you consult with your local county extension to obtain a specific diagnosis of the problem, and based on knowing that, decide what you need to do. If a chemical control is needed, they will have the most up to date information on what to use and how/when is best to apply it. They may appreciate overall and close up photos of the affected leaves, as well as possibly a sample branch with symptoms enclosed in a clear plastic bag. Cut the sample fresh and keep it cool during transport so it arrives in good condition to be examined. In the meantime, clean up any fallen holly leaves and dispose of them in the trash to limit sources of reinfection. Good luck with your holly! |
