Unfortunately, deer can be a real problem. They will eat a variety of plants and will learn to eat new plants over time, so although there are lists of supposedly deer resistant plants, your local deer may still eat some of the plants on the list. In my experience, the best solution is to fence them out with a tall fence. Some gardeners also report success using the spray on deer repellents applied and reapplied according to the label directions; these are widely sold at garden centers. Otherwise, you may want to consult with your neighbors as to what your nearby local deer population is currently eating, and plant accordingly. Your local county extension and local nursery professionals may also be able to offer more specific suggestions.
