There are many great choices for a sunny spot in south central Texas. Some flowers to consider include Amaranth (Joseph's Coat), Copper Plant, Cosmos, Cuphea (various types), Four-o'clocks, Gomphrena (bachelor button), Lantana, Melampodium, Moss Rose, Periwinkle, Portulaca, Rose Mallow (Hibiscus moscheutos), Salvia (many types including Indigo Spires and Salvia greggii), Sunflower, Tithonia, Verbena, Yellow Bells also called Esperanza (Tecoma stans), and Zinnia.
