| I recently purchase your brand of Camelias in Dahlonega. The leaves are curling and the plants appear to be dying. I purchased Pine Bark from a MAJOR Retailer and catepillars suddenly appeared about 2 days later. I sprayed Ortho Rose and Flower insect spray, (not heavily on the Plants) and they still appear to be in distress. I bottom fed the plants when setting them out. |
| Sue, Curling leaves is a sign of stress. Usually this means the roots were damaged or dried out some in the transplanting process. Air pockets around the roots (soil not firmed in well around the root ball) can also cause this. I should point out however that too much water (soggy soil conditions) is also detrimental so take care not to overwater the plants. Sometimes you have to dig down a few inches and feel the soil to see whether is it still a little moist or drying and in need of watering. With proper soil moisture the plant should settle in and resume normal growth in time. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
