Will the Australian Poppy, Papaver nudicaule, thrive in Southeast Texas? When should we plant the seeds?

Poppies love warm weather and bright sunshine. Plant your poppy seeds as soon as spring arrives, about the second week in March. Poppy plants may die back in mid-summer but will resprout and grow rapidly during the fall months.
