My lima beans are not producing. They come up, grow into fine big bushes, bloom heavily and never produce anything. WHY?

Lima beans need a long, warm summer to produce. Perhaps you're waiting too late in the season to plant your seeds. Try planting them really early in the spring (about mid-April), after the soil warms up, to give them as much time as possible to form pods.
